Turkey Feast
Stephanie and Mary P. enjoy St. Catherine of Siena School’s annual preschool-four Thanksgiving feast held on November 26 in Siena Hall. Students dressed as Pilgrims and Indians and were served turkey, with all the trimmings, including homemade butter prepared by the students as a class project.

Colonial Village
Seventh grade students at St. Catherine of Siena School presented a living Colonial Village to parents and students on November 22 in Siena Hall. Students were first required to write research papers about a specific colonial trade. They then demonstrated their trade in a mock Colonial Village, while dressed in period clothing. Some of the trades represented were Tinsmith, Apothecary, Fur Trader and Clock Maker. Shown, Anthony P. demonstrate the trade of Carpenter to students in St. Catherine of Siena School.

Band Christmas Concert
St. Catherine of Siena School held a Christmas Band Concert on November 19, in Siena Hall. Beginner band and Advanced band students performed holiday music under the direction of Miss Martha Boughner. Shown left, 8th grade student Brian M. plays the drums.

Columbus Essay Winners
St. Catherine of Siena School 6th grade students (shown left to right) Graceanne D., Michael D., and Nina R. won the Chistopher Columbus Essay Contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
Overall Champion
Thayah A., a second grade student at St. Catherine of Siena School, won Overall Champion in her class division of “Starter Rider”on November 2 at the Essex Equestrian Center in West Orange. Ammendola, shown here with her horse Pork Chop, also took home a first place and two second place ribbons in the competition.

St. Catherine’s votes
St. Catherine of Siena School students Atticus I. and John Paul V. wait in line to cast their vote for president on Tuesday November 4, 2008 in a mock election held in school. The election was part of the school’s Extreme Thinking program where students were asked to sign a registration book, received a voting ticket and then went into a booth to cast their vote.
