Service to others
St. Catherine of Siena School eighth grade students (from left to right) Thomas C., Mairead C., and Julia R. collect over $325 on behalf of the student body to support the GI Go Fund on September 11. The students of St. Catherine’s resolved to follow President Obama’s declaration that September 11 be a National Day of Service for all Americans as a way of remembering our nation’s heroes. The proceeds collected went to the GI Go Fund, a non-profit fund whose purpose is to help those in the military returning from operation Enduring Freedom or Iraqi Freedom to assimilate back into society. A portion of the fund also goes to homeless veterans.
